OLAS Loves: Henry Wolfe
(once like a spark) was founded on a very simple idea: one of artistic collaboration between fresh, unique, grassroots, and incredibly talented artists. What started out as a small boutique company has bloomed to over nine teams across the United States capturing what we believe to be some of the most beautiful, whimsical, magical photographs out there. We are constantly looking for new photographic talent to bring on board. We search for photographers who share the same unique aesthetic we do: kind of like peeking through Alice’s looking glass to a place where everything is magical, where colors dictate the feeling and emotion is clearly seen and felt on the faces of the story’s characters. We are story tellers. We are memory keepers and swashbucklers. We are constantly looking to explore new horizons, incredible people, and unique looking-glasses.
Along that same vein, (once like a spark) has started to explore and support artists beyond the photographic realm, and one we hold near and dear to our foot-stompin’, sing-loudly-in-the-shower, believer-of-all-things-possible, hearts: the musician. We are so excited to announce that (once like a spark) will be partnering with musicians that we are absolutely in love with: artists who share a message that touches a place in us (the same place that perhaps our photographs do), that holds our deepest emotions and plays with our ideas of, well, life. Love and lust, joy and sorrow, the possibility of what tomorrow may hold and the memories of what yesterday will forever guard.
For our first artist spotlight, we are thrilled to showcase the incredibly talented LA-based singer/songwriter Henry Wolfe.
I first heard Henry’s music by happenstance, and was immediately drawn to his unique vocals, his honest (and sometimes quite comedic) lyrics, and his folk/blues vibe. He is not like any other artist I have ever heard, thus making him the perfect person to share with our (once like a spark) family. Henry is an artist with whose songs you’ll probably have a unique relationship with: they are not all about love absolutely. They are about love and all that comes with that: not necessarily all good, but absolutely necessary.
We hope you love his as much as we do, and we hope you join Henry’s Facebook page, MySpace page, and mailing lists. And if you’re looking to spend the best $0.99 of the year, go and buy Henry’s new single “Someone Else.” We promise you’ll love it. Because artists like Henry thrive on grassroots support. After all, that’s what you’ve done for us.
On our website, blog and Facebook page, you’ll be able to read through an interview I had with Mr. Wolfe, buy his incredible music on iTunes, read through his bio, look at some snazzy pictures, and, most importantly, show your support of this phenomenally talented musician. We’ll be hosting a (once like a spark)/Henry Wolfe contest for mutual fans, so be on the look-out for how you can snag some sweet swag (how about that for some alliteration?)
peace, love and all things good*.
