OLAS Loves: Charlie Wadhams

The OLAS team was SO thrilled with the response we got from our first OLAS loves spotlight (Henry Wolfe)*, that we thought hey, maybe Henry knows some other stellar musicians he can send our way.  And he did (they even play together on occasion)!  Meet our second OLAS loves spotlight: Charlie WadhamsCharlie is an LA-based singer songwriter who definitely hits the mark when it comes to a soulful voice, some pretty great beats, and some equally wonderful lyrics.

To get to know Charlie a little better, here are some little known facts:

- Charlie is 6′ 5″ tall and horrible at basketball

- He eats way too many bean and cheese burritos

- He loves to go bike riding around his neighborhood

- This year, Charlie switched from coffee to tea (mostly) (we at OLAS bow down to your commitment to a caffeine-free life, as none of us have managed that.  Not even a little).

- He was once a traveling salesman.  He first left it at just that…but with further investigation, I found that Mr. Wadhams sold vegetable choppers.

Free Up Your Schedule

I’ve definitely been jamming in my chair (and walking down the street, and taking a jog…) listening to both of Charlie’s CDs (one of which you can download FOR FREE), and the other can be found on iTunes.  Just search for his magical cd entitled “Free Up your Schedule,” or, click here (we try to make things easy for y’all.)

As we’ve asked in the past, we’re going to ask you again.  For several reasons.  The first being that Charlie is a truly talented musician, and all our lives will be better if we listen to his music.  The second being that we can EASILY show our support of Charlie by buying a tune or two from iTunes, being his fan on facebook, and going to his shows if and when you’re lucky enough to be able to.  And I bet you’re asking what else you can do?  Just spread the word!  Great, new music is something like tickets for free ice cream…everyone is always happy to get one (or, in this case, hear about it).

So, be his fan, love his music, share the love, and keep on being your awesome selves by supporting (once like a spark) and the musicians we can’t get enough of!

And don’t forget: we’ll be hosting an OLAS/Charlie Wadhams contest in the weeks to come, so make sure you’re a fan of BOTH (once like a spark) and Charlie Wadhams on facebook!  AND be on the lookout for some more fun interview questions from Charlie on our facebook page!

Love and love and music and music,

Lauren

*PS.  I went to go see Henry Wolfe’s show in New York City at Joe’s Pub.  Absolutely amazing.  If you live in LA or NYC, definitely check him out!
