Melanie + Rorie – Wedding
OK our sweet OLAS fans – have we got a treat in store for you! You may remember Melanie and Rorie’s engagement session in Athens, GA from a few months ago, and we are SO excited to share their amazing wedding day with you. We were so drawn to their precious personalities and double dose of Southern charm, and knew that their attention to detail and love of bright color was going to make for a picture-perfect big day. We had heard all about the “preppy meets classic” details Melanie and Rorie had planned for their wedding in August, and couldn’t wait to see how they pulled it all of. Just you wait….
Our Southeast team met the beautiful bride in Athens as she was getting ready. To say that Melanie is stunning is an understatement, and she was RADIATING on her wedding day.
No detail was forgotten – even down to this PRECIOUS dress hanger. And the shoes. I die. Her Jimmy Choo heels were sky-high, something us 5’3″ girls can totally appreciate. Killer.
And now on to her dapper groom. You might also remember Melanie’s bridal session that we posted earlier in the year. Stunning. Can we say it enough times? Sigh. Anyway…since we’ve given Melanie some love, it’s time to give some blog-time to Rorie – how handsome is he? Totally loving his seer-sucker, polka-dot bowtie combo.
And all of Rorie’s boys….
One of the things that we all loved the most about Melanie and Rorie’s wedding was the flowers. Each and every arrangement, from the bridal bouquet to table centerpieces, were all beautiful. These bright colors were perfect for a Southern summer wedding, and added such vibrant pops of color to all of the images.
And the couples portraits begin. Again, we die.
Presh. Just presh.
Just in case we haven’t said it quite enough times….STUNNING.

Details, details, details. Melanie and Rorie thought of it all! How amazing are these signs, and the beautiful door wreaths?
A classic, preppy Southern wedding OBVIOUSLY has to include croquet…and tons of baked goods. Another essential for a classic Southern wedding during the middle of summer? Hand fans.
The love between Melanie and Rorie is so apparent – they both look so joyful during their first dance!
Another really touching detail was this beautiful handmade tree with old wedding photos of both Melanie and Rorie’s family, including one of Melanie’s bridal portraits as they continue their families loving legacy.
OK, so full disclosure – this is a shameless plug.

It’s not often that you see the bride drive the getaway car away, but Melanie is certainly not every ordinary bride! She told us from the beginning how much she loves her Jeep (decked out with Georgia gear, obviously!) so it was only fitting that head towards the drivers seat at the end of the big day. Thanks so much for letting us capture your wedding day Melanie and Rorie – all of the OLAS crew loved being a part of it!
