I balled my eyes out watching the slideshow and re-living our wedding day. The song was perfect too. I then called Brian and cried all over again. (I feel like that is a better description of my gratitude than simply “thank you.” ) But seriously thank you so much. I absolutely hate being in pictures and I always smile awkwardly because I’m so uncomfortable. I was hoping for just a handful that I didn’t hate. I was blown away that I liked a lot of pictures and I loved a good many. I can’t explain how relieved and grateful I am. Tracy did an amazing job and was so much fun to work with. She was very patient too because Brian wouldn’t look at the camera for at first for most of the couple shots and she had to resort to making crazy noises so he would look at her. I can’t wait to start designing the parent books and picking ones for the print bundle! We were thinking of doing different parent books for his mom, my parents, and us.

When I got engaged, there was never a question about who I wanted to shoot my wedding. The pictures are GORGEOUS! Every photographer is so talented.
What truly amazed me about working with OLAS was how friendly everyone is and how they take so much time to figure out exactly what you want on your wedding day. It feels so very personal. And, do they deliver! Carla was so amazing on my wedding day. I was a ball of nerves when I arrived at the venue because I was slightly late and there were several things waiting for me to deal with when I got there. Carla stepped right in, took control, and helped direct people away from me so it felt like it was just me and her. I immediately felt better. She was so fun and comfortable to be around. Let’s face it, it can be awkward to have someone following you around with a camera telling you how to pose. However, there was nothing awkward about it with her. She even made my husband feel at ease and he hates taking pictures. To top it off, the pictures are so stunning. I keep looking at them and can’t believe I have something so beautiful to remind me of my wedding day!

Finding Once Like A Spark was such a relief! My husband and I got married up in Solvang in Wine Country and photographers were few and far between… they were either WAY too expensive or charged an additional travel fee to head up there. After calling or emailing about 30 photographers, I was starting to panic, not going to lie! Ha! Then I saw a friend of a friend’s wedding photos posted on Facebook and thought they were absolutely beautiful… they were shot by Once Like A Spark. I thought, well what’s one more photographer call. It was likes angels started singing the moment I got in touch with Leah! Their prices were reasonable, there was no travel fee (as long as we were getting married somewhere in California, there was no charge for the California photographer to travel to our destination), and not only was there no travel fee, but our photographer was going to be driving up from San Diego, so the OLAS team put her up the night before in Solvang, so she’d be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the big day! And speaking of the big day… if you get Tracy for your photographers, trust me… you are in great hands!! They are fun, personable, make you feel so comfortable (it felt as if we had known them for years!) and not to mention, your photos will be AMAZING… They were all GORGEOUS!

Working with (once like a spark) was an absolute pleasure. From the moment I found your website and read the line in your “answers” section about the style of photographer as “classically elegant, with just the right mix of whimsy built in plus a little charm on top” I was sold. As I searched more through the website, fell in love with the photography and even more with the way you all present the company, I was hooked.
Little did I know that OLAS is so much more than just a photography company that would come shoot our wedding photos. Seriously, working with you guys was SO enjoyable and made things as simple as possible. Coming from a girl who loves organization and planning and has a secret desire to be a photographer… this was pretty much a perfect win for me.Leah was incredible to meet with right off the bat to learn more about OLAS and all you have to offer brides. From there, Phil and Anna… seriously… they are awesome. We loved getting to know them over coffee (and me while working at Passion). Then chatting with Britt… I really felt like we could be best friends in about 5 minutes. I’m still planning on coming for a Charlottesville visit with Chip!
Overall, the experience was incredible and we feel SO blessed to have had OLAS as such an important part of our wedding day! (and now as our forever since I finally was able to convince my mom to get a couples album!!! woo!)I am giddy thinking about receiving our photos and will be anxiously awaiting them! We are in love with the pictures! We weren’t able to be together when we looked at them, but we video chatted while going through them and Matt took about an hour out of a big study day because we couldn’t stop looking through them and talking about them! We both loved our photographer and it felt so easy to work with her. There were times when it felt like she was a guest rather than our wedding photographer, not because she wasn’t super busy doing her job, but because she’s so friendly and made us feel like we’d known her forever. My whole family loved her too! Also, I always knew that if I had a question, it would be answered very quickly. One of my best friends got married three weeks after we did, and she had such an opposite experience with her original photographer, and it made me feel extremely fortunate to not have gone through that with OLAS! Kelly + Robert::Engagement Session(once like a spark) photography was everything I was looking for in my vision of our wedding photography. The quality and uniqueness of each and every shot made me feel proud to show off our photographs to family and friends. Before finding (once like a spark) photography I had searched all over the internet, including every wedding site out there, asked everyone I knew for recommendations, but couldn’t find exactly what I had in mind. That was until a friend had given me the name of a company they were using for their wedding – (once like a spark) photography. I knew immediately after viewing the portfolios on the website that my search was over, nothing I had viewed before even came close to the quality and beauty captured in the photography showcased on their site. After receiving my photos back from our engagement session this was confirmed, I was beyond thrilled with them! Funny thing is, my fiancé and I had been worried about what we looked like in our photos, since we were feeling a little under the weather the day of our shoot. Turns out we looked better than ever in our photos – thanks to the magic of (once like a spark) photography. Aside from the quality of the photography, everyone we’ve spoken to or worked with has been incredibly kind and helpful toward us. Many of the other companies that I had spoken with had taken long to respond to any questions or concerns I had. This was never an issue with (once like a spark) photography. Jessica + Frank::WeddingAfter finding out I was getting engaged my first thing I wanted to find was a photographer. After sending out a lot of emails to companies that looked big enough to have good enough photography equipment and even smaller companies that were good in customer service I came up empty. The big companies just sent spam and automated responses to me. The smaller companies couldn’t give me the photographs that I would have wanted.
After almost giving up and throwing my first wedding tantrum I saw OLAS on Facebook. I looked through their blogs, galleries and their regional photographers biographies. I fell in love they had the look and style that I was looking for. Modern and contemporary rolled into one! After emailing the team, Immediately I felt at ease. There were there promising to guide me through the process and give me just what I wanted. She helped me figure which photographer’s style best fit my vision for my own wedding and engagement photos. Then I met my photographer and she further set my mind at ease. We did our engagement shots on the hottest day of the year in DC and she never complained…
Once the wedding got closer we began getting emails from the team…yes I said team. A group of amazing and creative people trying their best to make everything about your day amazing. They were asking questions as to what photos we wanted how we wanted to be shot, where, etc. Making sure that on the day of the wedding no body would be unsure as to what pictures were needed. On the day of the wedding our photographer was there on time…BIG PLUS…and was taking all the pictures that meant something but at the same time was unintrusive.
After getting the photos I literally cried. A moment that passed and I hadn’t thought about since. I, at that point, didn’t care about any of the other pictures and was in love. I mean they were/are phenomenal but that one picture of me and my son dancing (he’s 2) with his head on my shoulder…That is now a HUGE portrait in my home.

No one will ever be able to make better memories for me as you have all been so patient kind and caring to me and my family for some of the most important moments of my life!

I have been blown away with (once like a spark) since Ashley and Cali first kicked it off and have known for a long time that their aesthetic was the perfect fit for my personality. When my dear future husband, Mark, popped the question I did not hesitate in contacting OLAS to document my day. I was familiar with their photographs (which I always considered to be breathtakingly genuine and full of life) but was blown away by their service!! When you are part of the OLAS family, you literally have a SWAT team of creative and kind minds guiding you through the process (in the million and 1+ other things you have to do for a wedding, having a go-to, competent and kind team behind your back is AMAZING!)
The thing I’ve been most concerned with through the entire process was staying true to ‘us.’ Mark and I wanted to feel like ourselves through every step of the wedding process (and we wanted our love and genuine nature to resonate through our pictures, of course!!) So far, we have finished our engagement shoot and are 6 months away from the wedding. All of our concerns about being ‘us’ in our photographs are totally gone; Carla ‘got’ us at our engagement shoot and I know that our wedding pictures will be amazing! Mark and I have not stopped hearing about how great our engagement pictures are from all of our family and friends and I am certain that our wedding photos wil be even better!

We loved working with the whole staff at (once like a spark) photography! They are so friendly and professional. Our photographer, Graham, was also outstanding. He made us feel at ease and had us laughing through most of the shoot, which was a whole relief since we dreaded two hours of staged posing in formal wear at a public park. We could not be happier with the final outcome from our shoot! I am so in love with the photos! They are even better than I except! WE TOTALLY CRIED! LOL I just want to take this time to let you know how amazing everything at OLAS has been, especially Roya! The day of our wedding everything had gone wrong…first the nail salon had opened 20mins late putting hair and makeup waaaaaaay behin.! Then my flowers arrived and everything was wrong!!!! They had forgot and used all the wrong flowers, feathers, and jewels that I had asked for. Arriving at the hall Roya kept everything calm and moving right along- she was such a huge part of making my day run smoothly. My hair and all the bridesmaids hair were falling out and such a mess and the DJ forgot half of the system that we paid for! Roya was a godsend! I know that I am the only one that notices these things and looking at the big picture these are small things that went wrong and I really didn’t notice much of them until the next day. But I would say OLAS and Roya made our wedding so wonderful and we are sooooooo grateful to have you be a part of such a special day! we really wouldn’t want anyone else! We love Roya so much!
