Editor’s Choice :: Katie + Patrick’s Fresh Spring Wedding in Athens :: with Nikki
There’s nothing more refreshing that a classic spring wedding, and have we got a gorgeous one for you today. Our always-amazing Nikki exceeds all of our expectations once again with Katie + Patrick’s absolutely beautiful Athens, GA wedding at Athens First United Methodist Church and the Taylor Grady House. These two hosted QUITE the party, which is exactly what they were hoping for. Katie and Patrick met when some of their mutual friends connived a plan, and told each that the other was interested (though neither had said so!) The trickery obviously worked, because 4 years later….and voila! We loved being a part of this beautiful day – enjoy some of our favorite photos below!
Sneak Peek :: Jessie + Joey’s Bright and Cheery Wedding at McMenamin’s Edgefield :: with Ashley + Kellen
There are just some weddings that we shoot where joy oozes right out of the couple and into their photos, and Jessie and Joey’s wedding is one of them. Honestly, the amount of love and fun and overall good cheer from this precious couple and their family and friends warms our hearts and reminds us again just how much we love our jobs. Joey and Jessie live in New York, but headed cross-country to get married in Portland at McMenamin’s Edgefield. Our incredible Portland photographers, Ashley + Kellen, did an incredible job at shooting this beautiful wedding – we dare you not to smile looking at these gorgeous images. Jessie and Joey met on a blind date, and credit their shared love of noodles, oysters, and desire to scuba dive as the ticket to happily ever after. Check out a few of our (many!) favorite personal details from Jessie + Joey’s wedding – the favor suitcase belonged to Jessie’s grandfather, the centerpieces were designed by her mom, and the wedding arch was made of petunias, which were Joey’s late mother’s favorite flowers. Also, the corks from the centerpieces are from all of the wine that Joey and Jessie drank over the past year - we love it! Thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of your big day, Jessie + Joey. It was such an honor – cheers!

There is lots to love about this wedding….Keary’ stunning dress, the wish lantern that was lit over the lake during the ceremony, the amazing cake that was made by a family member, and the poignant moments of emotion that Tyler captured so beautifully all day long. But what do we love most about this wedding? We love the fact that a little rain didn’t stop Keary and Simon, and it didn’t stop Tyler, either! This precious couple and the ever talented Tyler managed to make the best of the drizzle, and the photos from the wedding are all the more beautiful for it! See how they pulled it off in some of our favorite photos from the day below.

Today we’re bringing you a sneak of Amanda + Jordan’s gorgeous spring wedding, held at a traditional (and BEAUTIFUL) plantation home in Tennille, Georgia (owned by Amanda’s aunt!). A + J wanted to keep the event intimate at around 100 guests, which lended itself perfectly to the casual, but classy-chic decor A had planned. Amanda chose to honor her maternal grandmother by using one of her treasured handkerchiefs to wrap around the bouquet, which was such a meaningful tribute and sweet reminder. Keeping with the theme of family, we love their choice of wedding favors: a homemade relish recipe that has been passed down in A’s family for several generations, and a southern classic! It was very important to A + J that the focus of the day be the love and memories created there, and we’d say they accomplished that beautifully. We sent Paige, one of our southeast photogs, to photograph their sweet southern wedding day, and she did a gorgeous, gorgeous job. We are loving the timeless feel in each and every one of the photos, and we are so blown away by their beauty. A + J, we cannot wait to share the rest of them with you very, very soon – but in the meantime, enjoy your Sneak Peek! We are so grateful to call you part of our (once like a spark) family. xoxo!

Christy + Stephen’s Classy and Joyful Wedding at Athens First United Methodist and The Georgian :: Athens, GA
As we’re headed into summer and some seriously hot days, we thought we’d take it back a couple of months to one of our favorite places in the world, Athens, GA in October. Christy and Stephen celebrated their absolutely beautiful big day with a couple hundred of their family and friends at some of Athens’ most beautiful venues - Athens First United Methodist Church and The Georgian. The ladies all gathered to get ready at the super-hip Hotel Indigo, before making a quick stop at the Founders Garden at UGA for Christy + Stephen’s sweet first glance. We love this wedding, we love this sweet couple, and we love these gorgeous photos (can you tell by the sheer number of couples shots we included in this blog post?!) Today we are bringing you a sneak of Diana + Ted’s super fun wedding at the end of April. The date they chose was Ted’s grandfather’s birthday who passed unexpectedly when Ted was a baby, and the chose this date as a tribute to him – we love this sweet way to honor a family member! Diana and Ted got married at the beautiful Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery in New Jersey, then headed over to the Hotel Alcott for what was one amazing party. Music is hugely important to these two, and they found some really cool ways of incorporating their passion into their wedding day. The tables at their reception were named for albums from their favorite bands, and they even gave mixed CD’s (that look like records!) to their guests with all of their favorite songs from the albums. Love this idea! These two lovebirds met in Atlanta when they were both teaching high school and coaching lacrosse – they’ve since moved up the coast for law school (Ted) and graduate school (Diana) and are living the good life in Brooklyn, and we are so honored to welcome them to our (once like a spark) photography family! PS – Look out for the wine time capsule box….one of our favorite new wedding traditions many of our brides our implementing!
