Sneak Peek :: Jessie + Joey’s Bright and Cheery Wedding at McMenamin’s Edgefield :: with Ashley + Kellen
There are just some weddings that we shoot where joy oozes right out of the couple and into their photos, and Jessie and Joey’s wedding is one of them. Honestly, the amount of love and fun and overall good cheer from this precious couple and their family and friends warms our hearts and reminds us again just how much we love our jobs. Joey and Jessie live in New York, but headed cross-country to get married in Portland at McMenamin’s Edgefield. Our incredible Portland photographers, Ashley + Kellen, did an incredible job at shooting this beautiful wedding – we dare you not to smile looking at these gorgeous images. Jessie and Joey met on a blind date, and credit their shared love of noodles, oysters, and desire to scuba dive as the ticket to happily ever after. Check out a few of our (many!) favorite personal details from Jessie + Joey’s wedding – the favor suitcase belonged to Jessie’s grandfather, the centerpieces were designed by her mom, and the wedding arch was made of petunias, which were Joey’s late mother’s favorite flowers. Also, the corks from the centerpieces are from all of the wine that Joey and Jessie drank over the past year - we love it! Thanks so much for inviting us to be a part of your big day, Jessie + Joey. It was such an honor – cheers!

Katie + Kason :: Airplanes & Cotton Fields :: GA Engagement Session w. Nikki
You may remember Katie + Kason from our blog post of their wedding sneak peek back in April, but we just couldn’t let you miss out on their super unique and gorgeous engagement session from this last Fall as well! K + K came up with the idea to have Nikki (one of our talented southeast photographers), meet up with them at the Peachtree Dekalb Airport for what was an absolutely AMAZING shoot. Vintage suitcases, bomber jackets, and aviators were the perfect little additions to pull off this “jet-setter” themed e-sesh. They could have easily stopped there, but we’re so glad they didn’t! They decided to meet up in one last spot: a blooming cotton field. The fields of white fluffy cotton provided a truly beautiful and serene backdrop to finish out K + K’s shoot, and we love how that whole portion of the e-sesh oozes romance. Katie + Kason, we have literally loved every second we’ve had to work with you both, thank you for having us be a part of this incredibly special time in your lives. xoxo!
Editor’s Choice :: Shana + Nuwoe’s Boston Engagement Session :: with Graham
A couple with an impeccable sense of style AND the best love story ever? Pretty sure it’s the recipe for gorgeous engagement photos. Shana and Nuwoe met up with Graham, one of our stellar New England photographers, for some photos that showcase the unique surroundings and this precious couple. Shana and Nuwoe actually met when she was 14 and he was 16 in the only place you would expect teenagers to meet – the mall. Shana was mesmeroized by Nuwoe’s bright yellow track suit with matching sneakers. They became friends, then dated briefly, then broke up and went their separate ways. Fast forward 10 years later. Shana comes back into town for the holidays, runs back into Nuwoe, they chat until 4 am, and as they say….the rest is history. These two live in Brooklyn now, but Nuwoe figured out how to propose to Shana back in the exact spot they met – at the mall! We’re so excited to be working with these two, and can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding in October. And PS – how AMAZING is their sense of style?!
Jill + Michael :: An Uptown Boston Engagement Session :: New England
This afternoon, we are bringing you a super chic Boston engagement session with the precious Jill and Michael. We are all totally crushing on Jill’s picture-perfect outfit – we love her sleek white button down paired with her purple skirt that has just enough pattern and texture to add some wonderful visual interest to the photos. The beautiful streets of Boston provide a fabulous urban backdrop, and we love the variety our New England team created by shooting not just on the streets, but on the harbor, in the park, and overlooking the city, on top of a building, too! We had so much fun sharing an afternoon with you two, Jill and Michael, and we can’t wait for your wedding!

There is lots to love about this wedding….Keary’ stunning dress, the wish lantern that was lit over the lake during the ceremony, the amazing cake that was made by a family member, and the poignant moments of emotion that Tyler captured so beautifully all day long. But what do we love most about this wedding? We love the fact that a little rain didn’t stop Keary and Simon, and it didn’t stop Tyler, either! This precious couple and the ever talented Tyler managed to make the best of the drizzle, and the photos from the wedding are all the more beautiful for it! See how they pulled it off in some of our favorite photos from the day below.

Today we’re bringing you a sneak of Amanda + Jordan’s gorgeous spring wedding, held at a traditional (and BEAUTIFUL) plantation home in Tennille, Georgia (owned by Amanda’s aunt!). A + J wanted to keep the event intimate at around 100 guests, which lended itself perfectly to the casual, but classy-chic decor A had planned. Amanda chose to honor her maternal grandmother by using one of her treasured handkerchiefs to wrap around the bouquet, which was such a meaningful tribute and sweet reminder. Keeping with the theme of family, we love their choice of wedding favors: a homemade relish recipe that has been passed down in A’s family for several generations, and a southern classic! It was very important to A + J that the focus of the day be the love and memories created there, and we’d say they accomplished that beautifully. We sent Paige, one of our southeast photogs, to photograph their sweet southern wedding day, and she did a gorgeous, gorgeous job. We are loving the timeless feel in each and every one of the photos, and we are so blown away by their beauty. A + J, we cannot wait to share the rest of them with you very, very soon – but in the meantime, enjoy your Sneak Peek! We are so grateful to call you part of our (once like a spark) family. xoxo!
