Sydney + Chris:Wedding:Part 2:California
If you missed Part 1 of Sydney + Chris’ gorgeous California wedding, head back over and check it out before you dive into Part 2. Today’s post is absolutely scrumptious, if we do say so ourselves. We start out with a series of absolutely magnificent couples portraits taken on the property at Strawberry Farms, where Sydney + Chris held their reception. Seriously, these two are just so beautiful, and we could have picked tons and tons more couples shots to show you, but we wanted to save room for their KILLER reception. After such an emotional ceremony, Sydney + Chris wanted to throw the party of the century, and they picked the perfect place to do it. The barn at Strawberry Farms was the absolutely perfect backdrop – we love the way they incorporated a whimsy feel into the whole reception…particularly loving the huge yellow tissue poms, the seating card display (ADORABLE), and the animal crackers at the kids table. Our favorite detail of all, however, was the surprise that Sydney + Chris organized for their guests….but you’ll have to scroll down to see that. From the very initial moment that we began shooting with Sydney + Chris, it was apparent that these two love deeply and live passionately, and their entire wedding day was such a showcase of that. Happy New Year, OLAS fam! We’re hopeful you took some time this holiday season to slow down, breathe, and rejuvenate for 2012…it’s gonna be a good one. We know we have to do our (once like a spark) family right, so we wanted to kick off the new year with you with Part 1 of this gorgeous, gorgeous California wedding. When Sydney and Chris first found (once like a spark), they told us they wanted classically beautiful photographs that would stand the test of time, with a little bit of whimsy thrown in. Check and check – that’s just what we do best! These two live in the Bay Area (where we shot their engagement session), but got married in Southern California. Our entire team loved getting to know Sydney and Chris – they’re a really, really laid back couple, and they talked a lot about how they were making their family, friends, and community the main focus of their wedding day. Sometimes brides getting married in a church ceremony will talk with us about their concern that they won’t love their photos from the ceremony as much as someone getting married outside….we think Sydney and Chris’ wedding is an amazing example of just how powerful these photos can be. The entire ceremony was rich with emotion and significance, and the result is just beautiful. Today’s featured wedding is a cross-country affair – from sea to shining sea in fact! Our West Coast photographer extraordinaire, Tracy, left the beaches of San Diego and headed cross-country to the beaches of Rhode Island for Janice and Nick’s gorgeous seaside affair. These two lovebirds got married at Dunlap-Wheeler Park – right at the entrance of Easton’s Beach, and we loved the way they incorporated a relaxed, beachy feel into every part of their afternoon wedding – everything from a bride and groom in flip-flops to the pops of purples and greens. One of the things we loved the most about this venue, though, was the really wide variety of looks Tracy was able to get – even though they were right on the beach, Tracy was able to spend some really sweet time with Janice, Nick, and their bridal party at some super cool spots…doesn’t it look like they are in front of a castle?! Mix in Janice’s AH-MAZING fiery red hair (girls, we know…amazing!!!!) and Tracy’s mad photography skills…and voila!!!!! Enjoy and leave Janice and Nick some love!

Hope you all are enjoying some time off for Thanksgiving, and are taking some time to be present with those that are near and dear to your heart. We are SO incredibly grateful for all of you , and for beautiful weddings, and for the opportunity that you give us each and every day to be a part of your lives. It’s an honor that we don’t take for granted, and we are so thankful to you! With all this time off, we know you’re looking for some beautiful weddings to view…luckily we have Renee + Caleb’s gorgeous soiree ready for you today! 
Renee and Caleb got married at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center with our amazing photographers Philip + Anna in tow. The GEHC is a really modern beautiful venue with some KILLER locations for shots. We love, love, love the gray and yellow color scheme, and couldn’t help but get more than a little teary eyed watching Renee head down the aisle towards her groom. And…we’re pretty sure this wedding wins the contest for cutest ring bearer/flower girl ever. Just look – you’ll see what we’re talking about! Renee and her mom were super creative and really got into the DIY spirit – they made almost all of the decorations themselves, including super cute aprons for the catering staff (in her wedding colors, or course!) Random Fact of the Day: Many of you know Leah Case – one of our extraordinary team members that works closely with our clients. Her husband, Chris, was the officiant at this wedding – totally randomly! Check it out, and leave Renee and Caleb some love!

Ya’ll….we LOVE this engagement session. Seriously, love, love, love this engagement session. Vonda and Donny are horse people, living in horse country in Virginia, and knew that they wanted to incorporate the equestrian look and feel into their sessions. OLAS co-founder Cali came out of mini-photography-retirement (ha!) to shoot this amazing session in the countryside of Virginia at Vonda’s beautiful farm and oh.em.gee. We are SWOONING. Their session was filled with their beautiful property, their precious farm animals, and a sweet evening romantic dinner. Sweet Vonda and Donny are getting married next week in Keswick, Virginia….and we know their wedding is going to be just as beautiful as this session!

Sara + Billy::Wedding::Part 2
In case you haven’t checked out Part 1 of Sara + Billy’s wedding (it went up yesterday), you must immediately check it out, and then come right back here. We’ll wait……..ok, you back? We knew you’d love it! Sara and Billy got married at the absolutely gorgeous Vintage Estate in California, and our seriously amazing photographer Michael was there to capture their big day – it was filled with lots of joy, lots of laughter, and lots and lots of yummy details. As you recall, Sara is a graphic designer herself, and personally did all of the design work…and it is amazing. Today we bring you Part 2 of their wedding day, which includes tons of epic couples shots, plus their beautiful reception…it was quite the party! The venue provided tons of amazing backdrops for gorgeous photos – everything from exposed brick, to beautiful green ivy, to rustic wooden bridges. A few of our favorite details included the favor to guests (Billy’s own famous BBQ rub!) and the super-fun photo booth. We love you Sara + Billy, and are so grateful to call you members of our OLAS family! xoxo
