Jessica + Jon::Augusta, GA Wedding::Part 2::A Little Swapping Around
Happy Monday little (once like a spark) chickadees! We hope you all enjoyed your weekend (and that our East Coast friends didn’t get snowed in!) I know that you all remember Part 1 of Jessica + Jon’s absolutely breathtaking Augusta, GA wedding that was posted on Friday – we included some great tips, tricks, and ideas for ALL brides, so be sure to check it out if you haven’t already…
But for now…on to Part 2! Here in the OLAS offices, we all spend many hours of our day swooning and ooooohing and aaaahhing over the beautiful, beautiful photos we work with all day. When I showed our team the photos below, everyone commented on how stunning the couples photos are, and how Jessica + Jon look so peaceful, calm, and relaxed. They do, don’t they?
Well, I played a little trick on you all (but don’t be mad!) In Part 1, we saw beautiful individual photos of Jessica, Jon, and their ceremony, and you’re about to see some GORGEOUS couples photos below. The truth is that this post isn’t totally chronological – Jessica + Jon took these AMAZING couples photos before their ceremony! Our OLAS clients will often times hear us talk about a “first glance,” which allows the couple some time together BEFORE the ceremony with their photographer. We find it often results in some really sweet intimate time between our couples, and our brides and grooms are able to relax and enjoy the photography process, without worrying about running to their reception! We totally think it shows in these photos….
We love you Jessica + Jon! xoxo (Don’t forget to see a list of all of their vendors at the bottom of the post!)

Rachel + Jason::Wedding::Part 1
Well, with the way we’ve been posting lately, it’s absolutely no surprise we’re bringing you another two-part blog post. Ya’ll – we can’t help it! Seriously…I try SO.DARN.HARD every time to narrow down the photos to feature, but it’s honestly impossible. And, well, that just means that you’re getting lots of two parters…but I’m guessing that’s actually a good thing.
We’ve just seen some of the most amazing weddings this past year, and Rachel and Jason’s big day was absolutely no exception. Our sweet Carla headed to Athens, GA for this posting (we were there tons this spring and summer) for Rachel and Jason’s gorgeous wedding day at a super cool venue – The Foundry. We just adore this precious couple, and loved getting to know them during their engagement session with Carla. We knew their wedding was going to be amazingly gorgeous and really so special, and we were right! Rachel and Jason decided to do a first look, which meant lots of time for our amazing photographer Carla to really capture some absolutely extraordinary couples portraits. Sigh. We love, love, love. Part 1 of Rachel and Jason’s wedding features some candid getting ready shots, a few individual and bridal party shots, and TONS of the good stuff – couples photos.
Here’s just a few of the things that we love:
1 – PLEASE check out all of the excitement in the room when Rachel finally got her dress on. The joy in the room is so evident, and we can’t help but smile.
2 – There’s nothing like some shimmery TOMS on a wedding day, and Rachel totally rocked them (along with all of the groomsmen, sans sparkle)
3- Rachel and Jason took some time to do a “first glance” so they had plenty of time for their couples photos, and there is nothing quite like that first private moment together. Carla KILLED it, and got such a beautifully emotional shot. Check out the first shot of Rachel and Jason together.
Part 2 coming soon…stay tuned!

Well, OLAS lovies, we’ve made it to Friday! And do we have a sweet treat for you
We know you’ve seen a little sneak peek of this (because we just couldn’t help ourselves!), but here a few more gorgeous shots from Jamie + Zack’s stunning Alabama wedding! Shot by our fabulous Southern photographer, Carla, Zack + Jamie were married in a beautiful little outdoor chapel, and held their reception at an old Manor house right by the chapel (talk about Southern charm!)
Details were super important to Jamie, and we just are head over heels in love with her DIY-savvy. Not only did Jamie + Zack provide guests with pretty in pink lemonade before the ceremony, but their “sweets to end the sweetest day” favors are so adorable
From hand-painted signs to the boys’ arrival to the ceremony by boat (how cool?!), Jamie and Zack’s wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. Throw in some seriously epic couples shots and a tunnel of love sparkler exit we are still swooning over…and you get one new Mr. + Mrs., two new members of our OLAS family, and these phenomenally gorgeous pictures! Enjoy!! xox
Katie + Matt – Engagement
Happy Friday, OLAS lovies! We hope you all have had a fabulous week, and have fun plans for the weekend! To kick off the weekend a little early, we have the really adorable engagement of Katie + Matt (shot by our amazing Carla)! Tying the knot next April, these love birds spent a lovely Spring day playing one of the best games of all time: Scrabble
We are also in love with the little field they found – beautiful trees and a rustic wooden fence?? What more can we ask for? Just about the cutest couple we’ve ever seen, here are just a few of our favorites from Katie + Matt’s engagement session! Congratulations – we can’t wait to work with you again in April!
We know we’ll be grabbing a scrabble board and taking it to a beautiful park this weekend….and if you’d like to join us to chat about your own engagement session, be sure to contact us at info@oncelikeaspark.com! xoxo
Read MoreMorgan + Hugh – Wedding
There is no better way to start your day sometimes than with pictures. Even though it’s super cliche, it is really true. A picture *is* worth a thousand words, and so, for those math geniuses out there, you’re about to get hit with 41,000 words. Or, 41 amazing pictures from Morgan + Hugh’s gorgeous Chattanooga, TN wedding shot by our phenomenally talented Carla.
Morgan + Hugh met at UGA during their junior year when they both attended a Special Olympics volunteer meeting and Morgan thought that Hugh must either be taken or a freshman since he was so good looking. Lucky for both of them, he was neither, and when they “happened” to run into each other a few days later at a party, Morgan casually asked Hugh if he liked the Braves (little did she know, actually, Hugh LOVES the Braves). So when Morgan asked Hugh to her sororities’ couples night at a Braves game, it was a home run (no applause needed for the superb sports reference
).
Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous–from Morgan’s beautiful dress, to the vibrant blues and yellows of Morgan’s bouquet and her bridesmaids’ dresses, to a blast of a reception at The Hunter Museum of Art in Chattanooga, to a very-Braves send-off, Morgan and Hugh’s big day was truly one of a kind, and one we were so happy to be a part of! We feel so blessed Morgan + Hugh chose Carla and (once like a spark) to capture their special day, and are so glad they are part of our OLAS family!
Here are just a few of our favorites, and…go Braves! xoxox
PS. We just got back an email from Morgan, and are so thrilled about what she and Hugh had to say about their pictures:

And remember, if you’re looking for someone to tell your special story, make sure you check us out! We’d love to chat over coffee, tea, or, you know, a sporting event
Dara + Daniel – Wedding
Dara + Daniel’s stunning wedding was probably due (in part) to the fact that Dara is quite the art aficionado! Dara went to school for Jewelry and Metalsmithing (how cool is that?!), and she works in DC in the museum fundraising world. Not to mention their ceremony and reception was at the gorgeous Mason Muer Gallery in Atlanta! But don’t think Daniel hasn’t gotten some awesomeness to add to the equation–he loves to travel and see new and wonderfully beautiful things, too! He’s been to 49 out of the 50 states, gotten speeding tickets in 14 of those states, and been to every country in Western Europe (except for three!). He’s also lived in a ton of really neat places, too. He’s originally from Rockville, MD (Dara is from Atlanta), and he has lived in New York, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia and Colorado – phew!
Dara + Daniel were actually set up by mutual friends, but started getting to know each other with e-mails. I would say that the set-up was quite the success, because their “I Dos” were nothing short of spectacular. From getting ready at the Hotel Intercontinental in Buckhead, to a meaningful and beautiful Ketubah ceremony (a tradition in Judaism), to a pretty rockin’ reception, this is one wedding we are just head over heels in love with.
Here are just a few of our favorites for you to love, too. Congratulations, Dara + Daniel!! xoxox
P.S. If you’ve found yourself swooning over this post because you’re planning your own wedding, make sure to check us out so we can fall in love with you too!
