Editor’s Choice :: Shana + Nuwoe’s Boston Engagement Session :: with Graham
A couple with an impeccable sense of style AND the best love story ever? Pretty sure it’s the recipe for gorgeous engagement photos. Shana and Nuwoe met up with Graham, one of our stellar New England photographers, for some photos that showcase the unique surroundings and this precious couple. Shana and Nuwoe actually met when she was 14 and he was 16 in the only place you would expect teenagers to meet – the mall. Shana was mesmeroized by Nuwoe’s bright yellow track suit with matching sneakers. They became friends, then dated briefly, then broke up and went their separate ways. Fast forward 10 years later. Shana comes back into town for the holidays, runs back into Nuwoe, they chat until 4 am, and as they say….the rest is history. These two live in Brooklyn now, but Nuwoe figured out how to propose to Shana back in the exact spot they met – at the mall! We’re so excited to be working with these two, and can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding in October. And PS – how AMAZING is their sense of style?!
Jill + Michael :: An Uptown Boston Engagement Session :: New England
This afternoon, we are bringing you a super chic Boston engagement session with the precious Jill and Michael. We are all totally crushing on Jill’s picture-perfect outfit – we love her sleek white button down paired with her purple skirt that has just enough pattern and texture to add some wonderful visual interest to the photos. The beautiful streets of Boston provide a fabulous urban backdrop, and we love the variety our New England team created by shooting not just on the streets, but on the harbor, in the park, and overlooking the city, on top of a building, too! We had so much fun sharing an afternoon with you two, Jill and Michael, and we can’t wait for your wedding!
Cristina + Harry::An Eclectic & Meaningful Wedding at The Liberty Hotel in Boston::with Graham
Cristina & Harry’s Wedding is really special to all of us here at OLAS for many reasons, the biggest reason being that it was actually a re-marriage. C + H had been engaged for about a year and a half when Cristina’s father was diagnosed with cancer. They knew they wanted to get married before he passed away, and one morning, June 8th, 2011, Cristina just knew it was the day that she and Harry were supposed to get married. They went down to the city courthouse, got a rushed marriage license, and a few hours later were married in front of Cristina’s father, mother, sisters and nurses (who surprised them flowers, and even a cake!). C’s father passed away the following morning, and while they of course miss him daily, they are so grateful to have been able to share such a special moment in their lives with him.
About a year later C + H were re-married by the same reverend who married them at the hospital (a very special detail for them), and C walked down the aisle to a song she and her Dad both loved, “My Girl.” Cristina’s Dad was a huge fan of jazz (and music in general!), so they decided to have a jazz trio play a few of their favorite songs during cocktail hour. As you can see, C + H’s wedding was a day full of meaning and love, and we really love all the different ways they showed those feelings throughout. Another beautiful detail to look out for are the shots of C’s Grandmother’s engagement ring (her something borrowed, something old, and something blue!). Our New England photographer, Graham (+ Richie this time too!), did a stunning job capturing all of the really important aspects of this wedding, as well as representing C + H’s chic, eclectic style. We are loving all the amazing architecture and the creative ways in which Graham and Richie used the venue itself, The Liberty Hotel, throughout all of the photos. C + H’s goal was to share the day with all their loved ones who couldn’t be there the first time, and to make it a celebration Cristina’s Dad would have loved…C + H, we all agree that you accomplished that, and so much more. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of such a special and beautiful day – xoxo!!

We can’t wait a second longer to share Alexis + Jon’s GORGEOUS New England engagement session with you all. This session has it all (literally!). Barn photos, orchard photos, historic landscape photos, beach photos… you name it!! We are quite obsessed with these two love birds and are so excited they chose (once like a spark) photography to capture this precious season in their lives. A + J live just outside of Boston, MA, so one gorgeous weekend in September, Tracy (our uber talented southern california photog), flew out for their e-sesh. The light in these photographs are nothing short of magical, and we know you all will love them just as much as we do. Tracy will head back out for their wedding this coming August which will take place at Harrington Farm in Princeton, MA, and we truly cannot wait! Much love Alexis + Jon! Joanne + Brian :: An Elegant New England Wedding at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum
Happy Tuesday OLAS family! We are very excited to share Joanne + Brian’s elegant New England Wedding with you all today! J + B’s wedding was (as they say) “10 years in the making,” and they couldn’t have created a more beautiful day to celebrate such a special time in their lives. The two met through mutual friends back in 2001, dated on and off through moves across country, and have been best friends all the while. When they finally talked about getting back together after all that time, Joanne told Brian that if they did, she really wanted him to be her very last boyfriend (love that!). Fast forward a few years to a birthday, a beach in Puerto Rico, and something very sparkly!! :) For the big day, J + B decided to have their ceremony & reception at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Massachusetts, and they did the most beautiful job making use of the expansive grounds at the museum…we’re talking seriously breathtaking ceremony & couples photos. Not to mention all the gorgeous detail shots of the flowers! In the end, all the photos are such a wonderful representation of J+B’s exquisite personal style, and the real love and care that went into all aspects of this event. We’re so happy to have been a part of it all, xoxo!

This sneak peek is SO GORGEOUS, and we’re so excited to share it with you today! Courtney and Dave are an absolutely precious couple, and got married just a few weeks ago at The Villa at Ridder Country Club, a beautiful venue in Bridgewater, MA. They knew they wanted their event to be classy and elgant, but also laid-back and fun….and fun it was! Wait until you see the photos of the amazing dance party at the reception…..and the surprises that Courtney and Dave had up their sleeves….err….dress. Their ceremony was candle-lit and romantic in front of a gorgeous fireplace, and it was important to them that all of the small details of their day held meaning to them both. For instance, Courtney danced with her dad to “My Girl” the song they used to dance to together when Courtney was a little girl. She also walked down the aisle to “Love You Forever” by Ryan Huston – it was a song that Dave played for Courtney their first Valentines together, and it’s been a special song for them every since. These two lovebirds are both UConn grads, though didn’t really connect until after college graduation. Now, Courtney is a PhD in neuroscience and Dave holds down the family business, and these two have also recently become parents….puppy parents that is!
