Courtney + Patrick – DC Wedding
Hold on to your horses, boys and girls, because we’ve got a beautiful wedding headed your way with some craaaaazzzzy beautiful couples shots. Here at (once like a spark) photography, one of the things that we absolutely love is the fact that we get to shoot all kinds of gorgeous weddings all over the country. Some are super-rustic, some are uber-traditional and classic, some involve barn animals (seriously!), some are very modern and swanky…you get the point. What is true about each and every wedding that we shoot, though, is that the style is always representative of the couple. We’ve learned along the way that OLAS couples are always, always special kind of peeps – they know who they are, they know what they want, and they know they want the day to be a celebration of the glorious marriage that lies ahead. Courtney and Patrick are no different. Their wedding was sophisticated, stately, and extremely elegant….just like these two lovebirds.
We knew this was going to be a great time when Courtney first contacted us….from Dubai! No seriously, that’s where she lives!! Anyway, Courtney and Patrick both consider DC “home” though neither is officially from there, but they knew they wanted to combine the historical elements of DC into their wedding photos. The results, my friends…..epic if we do say so ourselves. Courtney and Patrick chose to fly in Michael all the way from San Fran to DC for their event, and we think his photojournalistic style was an absolutely perfect fit for this event. Their wedding was held at the beautiful St. Dominic Church in DC, and the reception was held at the GORG DAR Building. One of our favorite things about this wedding was the favors: olive oil. Why olive oil, you ask? Well because Olive You, of course.

Jill + Rob – Wedding – Part II
So, what’s better than some couples shots amidst a sea of cherry trees? We think the answer is…not much Which is exactly why we are in love with these couples shots from Jill + Rob’s beautiful Virginia wedding (shot by our fabulous West Coast team.) We just adore how Jill + Rob’s immense joy truly shines through in their pictures – not to mention how fun their reception looked! From a DIY photobooth to tables named after songs (Summer of ’69, anyone?) to a surprise cake for Rob (wait until you see it!), to animal crackers, we just think their wedding was the bees’ knees And it was held at the phenomenally gorgeous Rosemont Manor, a historic B&B – sounds like a pretty perfect venue to us
We teared up when we saw the images of Rob singing to Jill during their first dance (Rob’s a pretty darn good singer) and wanted to boogie in our office chairs when we saw Jill, Rob and their friends take to the dance floor! In true Jill + Rob fashion, everything was simply…awesome. Jill and Rob – we are so blessed you chose (once like a spark) to be a part of your wedding day, and we love you! Ashlee + Blake – Engagement
The prelude to what will surely be a stunning wedding: an incredibly gorgeous engagement session with the Bride-to-be Ashlee and her fiancee, Blake. Shot by our East Coast photographer, Deborah, this seriously cute couple picked a stunning day for some shots by the water and around town. We love how the light just effuses these shots; it makes the warmth of the day even more palpable.

Melissa + Stephen – Engagement
We absolutely love these sweet shots of Melissa and Stephen from our amazing DC photographer Deborah (http://eastcoast.oncelikeaspark.com)! Fun fact of this post: both Melissa and Stephen are photographers, too! So, being that they couldn’t really take pictures of themselves (together, at least), these two set out with Deborah to capture some candid and intimate shots throughout DC.
