SNEAK PEEK :: Diana + Ted’s Wedding at the Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery :: New Jersey
Today we are bringing you a sneak of Diana + Ted’s super fun wedding at the end of April. The date they chose was Ted’s grandfather’s birthday who passed unexpectedly when Ted was a baby, and the chose this date as a tribute to him – we love this sweet way to honor a family member! Diana and Ted got married at the beautiful Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery in New Jersey, then headed over to the Hotel Alcott for what was one amazing party. Music is hugely important to these two, and they found some really cool ways of incorporating their passion into their wedding day. The tables at their reception were named for albums from their favorite bands, and they even gave mixed CD’s (that look like records!) to their guests with all of their favorite songs from the albums. Love this idea! These two lovebirds met in Atlanta when they were both teaching high school and coaching lacrosse – they’ve since moved up the coast for law school (Ted) and graduate school (Diana) and are living the good life in Brooklyn, and we are so honored to welcome them to our (once like a spark) photography family! PS – Look out for the wine time capsule box….one of our favorite new wedding traditions many of our brides our implementing!

Beth + Keven: A Joyful, Game-Themed Wedding at Keswick Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA:: with Cali
After we got to know Beth + Keven and their two precious boys when we shot their engagement session at Barboursville Vineyards, we knew that we were going to be in for a good time at their October wedding, and boy, were we right! Beth + Keven got married at one of our favorite venues in Virginia, Keswick Vineyards, which was a perfect backdrop to a truly magical, fun-filled autumn wedding. Their wedding is chockfull of amazing, personal details that reflect the traveling, game-playing couple that Beth + Keven are – they love playing Scrabble (check out all of the awesome Scrabble tiles that make an appearance in their wedding – from the bouquets to the cake to the tabletops of the reception!) and traveling off the beaten path, exploring new sights, and visiting antique shops. Many of the details of the reception – including the ashtrays at the cigar area are old tobacco tins – are Beth + Keven’s own finds during their yard-sale adventures. Beth’s father made the adorable wine chalkboard direction signs, as well as the wine cork “laundry line” displaying messages and pictures sent in by guests. Keven made the wine corkboard for the escort card display, as well as the bent forks that display the fun conversation questions for guests. The amount of thought, detail, and personalization that went into this wedding was truly remarkable. Every moment of the day was beautiful – including the killer sunset that broke through the clouds shortly after the start of their reception. Beth + Keven, we have loved getting to know you and we are honored to have you guys as part of the OLAS family!

Truth be told, we OLAS ladies LOVE us a winery wedding… but a winery wedding in Charlottesville, VA near where quite a few of us call home? Well that’s just a win, win. ;) Naturally, Cali, our stellar-been-here-from-the-very-beginning-photographer (she and her sister founded the company!), headed on over to Keswick Vineyards to photograph this incredibly beautiful October wedding. We love Cali’s intrinsically artistic style; it’s always such a great reminder of what our roots are, and what this whole wedding photography business is really all about: capturing real emotion & cherished moments that will last a lifetime. Of course the details are important too, and in this particular wedding, they’re absolutely stunning (Christie’s blue shoes are seriously, to die for!), but the most truly beautiful part about this wedding? The captivatingly sweet moments Cali captured of Christie + Glenn’s first glance, Glenn’s face when he sees Christie coming down the aisle, their pure joy and excitement while finally putting on their wedding rings…these photos are not only crazy beautiful, but they reveal such true and raw emotion. C + G’s love for each other is so evident in all of their photos, and that right there, is what it’s really all about folks! C + G are high school sweethearts who have thrived through many years of long distance, and knew their love was one meant to last. We are so happy to have been a part of celebrating their love for each other, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them as part of our (once like a spark) photography family!

Nicole + Greg :: A Stunning Charlottesville, VA Engagement Session with Cali
Happy Monday OLAS family! Today we’re bringing you Nicole + Greg’s beautiful engagement session shot by our very own Cali! Cali is one of the co-founders of (once like a spark) photography, and we just love it when she gets behind the camera again… you better believe you’re in for some gorgeous, gorgeous work! One beautiful day back in September, Nicole + Greg met Cali out amongst the rolling hills of Virginia for an afternoon of creativity, beauty, and lots and lots of fun! N + G are SUCH an adorable couple, and we highly doubt either have ever taken a bad photo in their lives! They’ve been sweethearts since they were 17 (gotta love young love!), and are now each pursuing their careers: medicine for Greg, and law for Nicole. Greg made a special little trip down to Virginia from Massachusetts to commemorate this important time of their lives. If we’ve said it once, we’ll say it a million times: your engagement goes by so, so fast – be sure to soak it up! Abbe + Kyle: Sneak Peek: Fall Maryland Wedding With Jen
Happy weekend OLAS family! Today we’re bringing you the joyful, vibrant wedding day of our sweet clients Abbe and Kyle, shot by our always-amazing Jen. Jen traveled up to Maryland for Abbe and Kyle’s big day, and we are totally loving the deep fall colors they used to complement their gorgeous waterside venue, The Oaks. Kyle and Abbe’s love story really took flight around a week snowed-in together and a puzzle (does it get any more romantic than that?!) and we all just melted when we read the sweet words that Kyle wrote about Abbe…he does it best, so we’ll let him take it from here…. ” I am absolutely convinced that Abbe is my one and only, the one with whom I am supposed to spend the rest of my life. For this I love her with all my heart, to the stars and back, times infinity. . . and beyond.
