Bridal portraits are absolutely some of our favorite sessions, and it’s SO HARD for us to contain our excitement when we get a beautiful one in…..because we have to wait until our couple says “I Do” to share the pictures with you all. Since they’re supposed to be kept a secret (you know, no seeing the bride in her wedding dress before the big day bit!), we’re always so giddy to post portraits of some quality one-on-one time with our beautiful brides. Before the craziness of the wedding day, before the butterflies and the hair and make-up, we really just love capturing the true beauty of our soon to be brides in really fun, amazing ways. Philip + Anna (our superb Southeast husband + wife duo), did just that with Courtney (of Courtney + Nic!). The lovely Courtney did a sort of “dress” rehearsal (pun intended) around Atlanta, and we are head over heels in love with these super elegant portraits (not to mention, her dress is GOR-GEOUS.) OLAS Takes It To The Treasure State

We’re just full of big, exciting news these days at (once like a spark), and here’s something else to add to the list. OLAS has expanded once again, my friends, and this time it’s to the unlikeliest of places. In addition to Atlanta, Chicago, New England, Nashville, San Diego, and San Francisco, (once like a spark) is now spreading our love and our light to the fabulous peeps in….. Montana! Wahoo! We’ve always thought Montana was super cool, but we decided it was a place that we MUST be after connecting with our absolutely fab new team members, Mark and Angela. These two are SO crazy talented, and are exactly the kind of people that fit right in here are (once like a spark) – they’re fun, feisty, joyful people who care deeply about each other, and about making sure that you walk away with the wedding photos that you’ve always dreamed of. Morgan + Hugh – Wedding

There is no better way to start your day sometimes than with pictures. Even though it’s super cliche, it is really true. A picture *is* worth a thousand words, and so, for those math geniuses out there, you’re about to get hit with 41,000 words. Or, 41 amazing pictures from Morgan + Hugh’s gorgeous Chattanooga, TN wedding shot by our phenomenally talented Carla.

Morgan + Hugh met at UGA during their junior year when they both attended a Special Olympics volunteer meeting and Morgan thought that Hugh must either be taken or a freshman since he was so good looking. Lucky for both of them, he was neither, and when they “happened” to run into each other a few days later at a party, Morgan casually asked Hugh if he liked the Braves (little did she know, actually, Hugh LOVES the Braves). So when Morgan asked Hugh to her sororities’ couples night at a Braves game, it was a home run (no applause needed for the superb sports reference ).

Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous–from Morgan’s beautiful dress, to the vibrant blues and yellows of Morgan’s bouquet and her bridesmaids’ dresses, to a blast of a reception at The Hunter Museum of Art in Chattanooga, to a very-Braves send-off, Morgan and Hugh’s big day was truly one of a kind, and one we were so happy to be a part of! We feel so blessed Morgan + Hugh chose Carla and (once like a spark) to capture their special day, and are so glad they are part of our OLAS family!

Bridesmaids (OLAS style)

This past weekend I went to see Bridesmaids on opening night. My roommate and I had been looking forward to seeing it ever since the first trailer appeared during our weekly viewing of “Dancing with the Stars.” Every time the trailer came on while I was getting my daily reality TV fix, I paid rapt attention in case the producers showed some little clip they had left out previously. Needless to say, I went went with my roommate, a friend from high school, and her roommates, and of course we made a night of it. Mexican, margaritas…and then….the movie. We thought getting there 10 minutes early would be PLENTY of time to get decent seats….apparently not the case on opening night in New York City. We sat in the front row. But it did not deter the two hours of pure amazingness that ensued. Needless to say, if you haven’t seen it, you need to. Immediately.

So, with Bridesmaids as my inspiration, I set out to find some of our favorite bridesmaids pictures from our OLAS archives. Our bridesmaids are, first and foremost, our best friends. They’re the women we couldn’t imagine not having standing by our side when we married the loves of our lives. And they also make our lives (and our weddings) that much more fun and wonderful.

To start, I just love these pictures of Juliana’s (from Juliana + Greg) bridesmaids.

Lauren and her stunning bridesmaids look like they walked straight out of a BHLDN look-book. So lovely!

Tea’s bridesmaids were definitely showing her the love (and kisses and hugs) the day she said “I do” to Jesse.

Sometimes all you need is one bridesmaid to stand by your side….

And then to give a beautiful toast at your reception…

Sometimes you laugh at your bridesmaids….and then sometimes they laugh at you…when you also fall in the snow

And then you laugh together.

Can you spot a certain OLAS co-owner in this picture? Who was Ashlee’s matron of honor? Anyone?

I feel like these glasses would have fit perfectly in the actual movie, Bridesmaids.

And of course, the biggest duty of a bridesmaid (or, maid of honor) is the speech. Love this sequence from Christy and Nils’ wedding (especially the hug.)

I hope you enjoyed the premiere of Bridesmaids: OLAS edition, and please do yourself a favor and go see it. I’m already contemplating going to see it again while I’m in Atlanta with Leah and Ashley for a NotWedding pre-event (since Ashley has yet to see it, and Leah would see it again, too).

Brittney + Brandon – Engagement

Hello lovely OLAS chickadees! It’s Friday (Friday, gettin’ down on Friday…) and do we have a sweet treat for you: the engagement session of Brittney + Brandon shot by our fabulous husband + wife team Philip + Anna! The soon-to-be Mr. + Mrs. met our OLAS Mr. + Mrs. on a beautiful spring day in Atlanta to capture some precious engagement photos. Not only did they treat themselves to some delicious fro-yo, they also used props from two of our favorite Etsy vendors: cutesy mustaches from MoL Stationary (a environmentally conscious Canadian who uses her recyclables to make art) and a be-a-utiful oil and cloth banner from Modern June (cool stuff for the hip housewife)!

We absolutely love how Philip + Anna wrote “Love is Sweet” on Modern June’s banner, and think that “sweet” is the perfect word to describe Brittney + Brandon! You can just tell they adore one another, and it definitely comes across in these precious pictures. We feel so blessed Brittney + Brandon chose (once like a spark) and Philip + Anna to capture such a wonderful time in their lives–congratulations, love birds!
